3 Months Old - So cute!

My name is Seth.  I am the happiest, smiliest baby you will ever meet!

When I smile, my entire face gets squished because my smile is so big.

I am sleeping 12 hours at night, so my mom is very well rested!  I did this so she could play with me more!

I can roll over from my tummy to my back, and I am trying my hardest to go from my back to my tummy.  I know I'll get it soon enough!

What happens when we don't listen

Today, I noticed this lizard on my kitchen window.  He is missing his tail.  He probably didn't listen to his mother when she explained to him that he needed to hide, camouflage himself, and not play with cats.  He probably had a friend talk him into venturing out where he shouldn't go, and he lost his tail because of it.  He is still alive, and he will grow a new tail.

It was one of those "ah-ha" moments that was made clear to me. The Atonement is real.  People make mistakes.  We allow others to influence us, but we can overcome the silly things that we do.

I will let the pictures do the talking.

It was a good afternoon

We played. We laughed. We were silly. I love my girl.  I don't know that I am going to get another one, so it may be just me and her.  I love her so.

Boys and Painted Toes

Because he has an older sister, an older cousin, and a mom who all were painting their toes one afternoon, James decided that he needed his toes painted, too.

Each toe was a different color.

Just like his sister and his cousin.

And because he's 4, I went ahead and did it.

One day, he will realize that painting toes is for girls and not for boys.

But not today.  And that is just fine with me.

Gingerbread Men

The only thing Sariah wanted to do today was make a gingerbread man.  It was Franklin Family Chore day (meaning...clean the house) and I promised her that when all the chores were done, we would make one.  Miraculously, I had all of the ingredients!

Here is the funny part.  Sariah wanted to make one only so she could watch him POP out of the oven and run away!  She remembered last year, her 1st day of kindergarten.  The class made a gingerbread man, and when they went to check on him, he was missing.  They searched high and low for him all over the school - the library, the playground, the cafeteria, and found him in the nurse's office.

Alas, the gingerbread man didn't pop out of the oven.  So she is convinced that her school is magic, because that's where gingerbread men come to life.

Imagination: Arrows

The imaginings of a 4 year old boy are quite colorful.

Example.  James.  He uses a hanger as an arrow, slings it in the back of his shirt, and proceeds to run around the house shooting bad guys!  It makes me so happy to see his brain deep in the jungle of imaginative play.

First Days of School! 1st and PreK

School has started and my children are so excited!  Sariah is in 1st grade and James is in PreK.  I love that they love to learn!  I am happy/sad about this, to be honest.  I will miss them, terribly.  But I trust they are in good hands.  Here's to a great year!
