I have to document this story for posterity's sake. James lost his first tooth at school on Thursday. He was SO excited when he came home! He has been watching his sister lose her teeth for years and it was finally his turn. The only problem was - he lost it at school. No worries! The tooth fairy still knows.
That night, I place $1 under his pillow. He finds it about 2am and comes to tell me what he found! I give him a hug and a kiss...and then send him back to bed. At 6:30am, he comes back in just sobbing because he lost his dollar. I'm confident that it was in his bed somewhere, so I assure him that I will find it while he is at school.
At 7:30am, my phone rings. It is his kindergarten teacher. She tells me that James actually hid his tooth under her classroom floor mat in order to "test the tooth fairy." STINKER!
We have a good laugh and then I have an idea. I ask her if she has a dollar and she says she does. I quickly tell her the story of James losing his dollar and ask her if she can write a note from the toothfairy saying that since he hid his tooth, she moved his dollar. Perfect! She does that and James comes home with his dollar, his tooth, and his new note. Thank you to a wonderful teacher who helps a mother out and keeps the magic alive!
