Lucky Number 13

13 years married to this beefcake.  So many ups, very little downs.  We should all be so lucky to ride through life with companions that we just adore.

To celebrate, we went to the temple.  We went to the new Phoenix temple because we missed the open house.  It was more beautiful than words can describe.

We then went to dinner at a restaraunt that rotates around the top of a hotel.  It was actually very cheesy, but neat to see the city from above.

Here's to many more!

Impossibility

Have you ever tried keeping clothes on a toddler?  It's impossible!

Good thing he has a cute bum.

Christmas 2014

My heart is full this Christmas.  So full that at times, I am brought to tears.  My amazing-beyond-words husband and these three children are all I need.  Merry Christmas.

Gingerbread Houses and Trees

It is rare, but I get to volunteer once in a while for the kid's classes.

Today was one of those super fun days!  They were both making gingerbread houses at school.  Kids, sugar, icing, more sugar, and chaos?  Their teachers are angels on earth.

Because picnics are always fun...

I love it when these two get creative together.  Today?  Picnic on the patio table in the backyard and a movie on the Kindle.

p.s. Someone wasn't so happy that I snuck up on them to take a picture.

Decorating the Tree

The children love decorating the Christmas tree.  It is such a magical evening and is a treat to watch them carefully choose their ornaments and place them with the utmost of care.

I am so happy this season is upon us.

6 under 7

You know you're going on an adventure when you have 6 kids ages 7 and under in your car.

Aren't cousins the best?

My Brain Whispered It

Me: James!  How did you know the answer to that really hard question?!
James: My brain whispered it to me.

I love my conversations with this sweet and insightful brown-eyed boy.

Sharing is Caring

Seth LOVES sharing Jared's dinner.  We eat dinner around 5, and Seth usually fills up his tank then.  But the minute Jared comes home, and eats dinner, Seth climbs right up and lovingly commanders his dinner.  Every night.  It's adorable.

Hallway Sunday School Class

Welp.  We are now, at that point.  4 weeks until nursery and it can't come fast enough!  This little guy has forced us to become a part of the hallway Sunday school class.  And he just rolls around and plays the whole time.

There will come a day when we don't have any little ones, and we will miss it dearly.  I think that parents of small children get points just for showing up.  Even if we're in the hall, outside, or in the bathroom with a potty training child.  At least we're there!

Dad's Phone Pictures

I cleaned the pictures off of Jared's phone tonight.  There's some beauties on there!  I am so glad and grateful that he takes the time to capture these sweet moments.  Makes my heard go pitter patter.

Exchange with a Gallon of Milk

Today, I took Seth and went to Wal-Mart.  Now, if you have ever had toddlers in tow while venturing on your errands, you know that things never go as expected.  You have to have a few things packed in your purse to keep them distracted, extra diapers in case of an accident, or even just the mindset that if things go south - you will ditch your cart and bail.

This morning, as we were meandering about, things went wonderfully according to plan.  Until I got the gallon of milk.  Seth, being just as independent and vocal as his older sister was when she was a toddler, was very clear about wanting to hold the milk.  So I set it next to him instead of on his lap, because it was so heavy.  Do you think that satisfied Mr. Independent?  After a very colorful exchange between Seth and the gallon of milk, I figured it was time to quickly check out and leave.

As we pretty much sprinted to the front of the store, I noticed the sweet little old ladies doing their morning shopping either chuckling along with the commotion or glaring at me.  I either made their day and miss the days when they had young children, or I completely ruined their calm and peaceful shopping trip.

I'm just glad that the milk was the LAST thing on our list!

NOTE: Falling face first into a slide at the park is what gave him that wonderful swollen cheek and purple bruise.
